Happy 20th, Pete!

We went out for dinner last week to celebrate Pete’s 20th birthday. He recently started an internship at the Valley Forge Casino & Resort, which he’s enjoying. So we’re off to a good start to the summer. Kelly is working at Tiny Tennis, where he tells us he is part of the management team. Ah, the benefits of working for a two-person company (including him).

Kelly's First Suit

Kelly's First Suit

Kelly and Peter have been agitating for more formal clothing for a matter of months—Peter because he hopes to be working/interning soon, Kelly because he watches the cable show “Suits” and thinks Meghan Markle might give him the time of day if he was dressed better (speculation) . So we went to the King of Prussia Mall Saturday and found Kelly a suit (not the one in this photo, ultimately). Peter had gone by Friday and picked one out (thank god for the Jos. A. Bank 3-suits-for-the-price-of-1 sale!), so once the alterations are in, family can look forward to seeing the boys looking better at the Big Events.

Visiting Pete on Parents' Day

We visited Peter at Bloomsburg, with grandma and Kelly along for parents weekend. We tailgated with Pete’s friends and parents, many from our town. Strange to travel two hours to see the people you run in to at the supermarket.

Pete’s having a good time and apparently is off to a strong start academically. He’ll need to stay acquainted with his textbooks—he has 16 credits.

A soggy but fun Labor Day

Richie in the pool

<!-- Richie in the pool -->

The New Jersey-based Curths joined us over Chris’ house for a Labor Day picnic on Sunday. It rained a bit more than we’d have liked, but not enough to drive us inside, and the food remained warm, the beer cold, the conversation lively, and Richie survived taking on all the kids in the pool in a massive water-gun fight.
