Amazon has this list, topped by A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini. Virginia got very weary reading this book, and very grateful that she was married to me rather than an Afghani. So I liked this book ;)

The best books I read this year were:

  • Jesus For the Non-Religious, John Shelby Spong
  • The Long Tail, by Chris Anderson
  • The River of Doubt, Teddy Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey

And more to come. What were your favorite books of the past year?

Hey guys. Great blog. I had three favorite books of the past year Michael Chabon’s Yiddish Policeman’s Union, David Eggers What is the What and AJ Jacobs’ The Year of Living Biblically. I heard about the Teddy Roosevelt book. I’ll put that on hold at the library.Dan

Hey guys!First, I can’t believe how big your kids are. We must get together. Soon!Second, Kevin’s new job sounds very exciting. Hope it’s satisfying and, dare I say it, FUN. Good for you for making a big change after so many years.Third, the book that most affected me during ’07 was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, a young, gifted writer who wrote about the power of books during the worst of times during WWII, from the viewpoint of a little girl.Regards,Donna
