• We’d given Auntie Do our old Macintosh tower two plus years ago, and she loved it. But after 7 years, it’s time was up. So we’ve got her a Mac Mini, which allows her to keep using her mouse and monitor, which both work just fine. And she has re-upped our support contract for a couple more years. A guy needs a way to bring home some supplemental income … ;)

We visited Virginia’s mom, in Maryland, on Halloween and put in a very busy day of cleaning up the yard. Tied up many branches, chopped down some branches, cleaned the gutters and (my favorite) raked the roof. I managed to leaf-bomb Kelly when he wasn’t looking for it—sweet!!

Susan was, of course, a huge help. Virginia put in a good day’s work. It wasn’t till we’d been home a day that she realized she’d picked up a case of poison ivy. Ugh!! It’s ALMOST cleared up now.

We were at Sirena’s in Long Branch to celebrate Kevin’s mom’s birthday. Good meal, gorgeous view of the ocean ,and good company, too. We even had Hannah, home for the first time since heading to college.

We’ve been back for two weeks and finally threw together our video clips into a 10-minute movie. Enjoy it here.

  • We’re on the Colorado River today, outside Moab, and visited Arches Natl Park again. See the photos here.

Here we are in Zion Natl Park on Sunday. Glad to be out of Vegas – at least Virginia and I are. Kelly and I headed on a longer hike today. Virginia and Pete headed to Bryce Canyon. Another full day.

Here’s Virginia and Kelly at the dock on Elk Lake, in Wayne County, Pa., where we spent 4 relaxing days. Pete brought his friend Justin, and the three boys spent a lot of time fishing, playing Monopoly and volleyball on the lake. Virginia and I got in some time on bikes and hiking. All in all, we had a very good time. Only hang-up was the weather. Had two huge late-afternoon thunderstorms, one of which knocked out our power for 18 hours. We persevered – thankfully, Virginia had just showered and dried her hair. Hot water was an issue the rest of the week. But it’s August – who needs hot water?!? Photos here:

This is a photo from our church men’s retreat this spring. Virginia, the boys and I are headed up to the same cabin, on Elk Lake in Waymart, Pa., on Sunday. Wanna join us? Call me!
