Columbus, Ohio, got socked by 20 inches of snow this weekend. Beyond being jealous (give US that white stuff, the boys say!!), we were worried for Virginia’s Aunt Doris.
Well, we shouldn’t have worried. Doris’ daughter Mary reports that all is well in Ohio; Doris could have gone outside but she elected not to.
If Doris sends us pictures of her sledding, we’ll post them.

Pete’s been on a heckuva roll in the ARA rec league playoffs. His team – North Carolina – has made it all the way through the winners’ bracket.
He’s had some great games:The next game (Tuesday) is for the championship. If Pete’s team wins, they’re champs. If they lose, there will be a final game (Thursday).
Wish him and North Carolina luck. There are some very good teams left.

Pete’s ARA rec team is playing very well, and has won three games in the playoffs. Pete has played almost every minute. He had 23 points (including 5 three-pointers) in Game 1, 9 points and a bunch of assists in Game 2 and lots of assists again in Game 3 (he was double-teamed on the inbounds and triple-teamed in the halfcourt setup, first time we’ve ever seen that).
Kelly’s team got bounced form the playoffs in two games. We started too slowly in Game 1 and committed too many fouls in Game 2. It was a nice bunch of boys, but I doubt anyone will remember this winter’s hoops when they get older.

Kelly had his 11th birthday on the 14th and spent it on the wintry slopes at Spring Mountain, snowboarding with his friends Ben and Mikey. That’s Ben on the left. You can see they were getting along well.
The guys had a good time; even better, they had no school the next day. On the way home, we stopped in at Pete’s regular-season-ending game at Arcola, vs. sudden-nemesis Spring-Ford. Pete’s team won by one and advances to the playoffs. Cool!
Pete played five, yes, five, basketball games in the last three days.
