Kevin’s Uncle Al passed away early Sunday morning. His death comes about nine months after that of his wife, Agnes. You can see them here at my brother’s house with a couple of their grandkids.

I saw Al last week in the hospital. While he was not in godo shape, he had his wits about him enough to say hello and he was generally aware in his final days. Hopefully he slipped out of this life aware of just how much he was loved – by his kids, who stayed close for nearly the entire final week of his life; by his sister Barbara; and by all the others, family and friends, who knew him and cared for him.

Rest in peace, Uncle Al, and carry him in your hearts, Mary, Marion, Billy and Bobby.
