Virginia’s Uncle Edmund (that’s him with Roz and Doris at a family party on June 26, 2009) passed away this week. He was 89, lived in Sykesville, Md., with his wife Adele, and suffered a heart attack. Didn’t feel good after dinner, got into an ambulance singing songs and asking Adele to bring his rosary to the hospital. He died on the trip there.
We’ll remember Edmund for his long, fruitful life, his service to our country in World War II, and his pluck over the last 10 years. How many people are admitted to a nursing home and come out to live at home? I doubt it happens all that often. But Edmund did it. Remarkable.
We’re headed to Md. for a viewing Sunday and a funeral Monday. Virginia will write later in the week.
Keep Edmund, his wife, and all the family in your prayers.
