I need art for the home office, which is painted with a southwest-style orange, and looking for the right art to go in there. Maybe this from Zion …

Pete’s team, Methacton, finished up its time in the Stellar Tournament with two losses Sunday. First one was to eventual tourney winner Chester. In fact, as the game started, Pete was playing against one of the top players in Pennsylvania. Pete pushed off him on the first play and the guy yelled to the ref, “Oh, my ankle. Whoa, ref. Stop!” And he left the game, never to return. Who knew Pete was such a bruiser! That was the highlight, unfortunately, and they lost by 18 or so.

In the second game, they played a very beatable team from the Lehigh Valley, Northampton, but Methacton was clearly gassed and had very little left after three wins on Saturday. Didn’t help that Northampton made about 9 threes. Methacton lost by 7, I think. Pete played fine.

Anyway, that was 6 games in 2 1/2 days. Which was enough. Pete took a hard spill on his shoulder. We’ll see how it is when he wakes up Monday.

  • Pete’s high school team notched two wins in the Stellar Basketball Tournament, in Allentown, Pa., on Saturday—which means they get to play perennial state and national power Chester on Sunday morning. Wish them luck! Photos from the day attached.

  • Virginia and I rode 36 miles Saturday, from a nearby park to the Green
Lane Park—and back. Took almost 4 hours, but it was a good ride. The horses? We rode by them near Green Lane and they were just funny looking out at the multitudes motoring by, on foot and bikes and what have you.

  • Virginia and Kevin hiked at the self-proclaimed Niagara of Pennsylvania, and while that’s a stretch, it was a fun time. It’s up by the Delaware Water Gap, in the Poconos. More pics to come.

I saw this amazing exhibit at the Center for Photography on SIxth Avenue last week. His B&Ws are thoughtful, amusing and quirky. Here's an example.

  • We celebrated Sue’s [redacted] birthday as we have the last couple
years, with a Sunday lunch at Bahr’s Restaurant, in Highlands, NJ.
Nice June day, on the water, with the Donahues, Tom and Mary Beth.
Afterward, stopped by Chris’ house for a quick dip in the pool. Pete
wasn’t there, as he had to work a double shift between his two jobs.
Tough to be a working man, but he’ll appreciate it when he needs gas
    money in November.

It’s the 8th grade dance, and Kelly went with his friends Mike and David, and these two young ladies (Madison, left, and I apologize for forgetting the other’s name). All went well, though apparently Mike now has a girlfriend. How will this affect the boys? Stay tuned …

Pete had his junior prom Saturday night (photos). Kelly had his Coming of Age service Sunday morning (our photos, better ones from a friend on Facebook). Grandma came for both.

Matt, Michelle and Sophie were in town from Utah (photos). Came to church and visited our home later in the afternoon.

And we stained the deck, cut the grass, and managed to work out—a little. Sleep? Not so much.

Took this on the ferry as we headed up East River to Citi Field, to catch a Mets game with Kevin’s family. It was a Christmas present to take Kevin’s mom, a big Mets fan, to the team’s new stadium. We had a great time, and Mets won. Link to see photos here.
