Auntie Do, we’re wearing our Ohio State stuff and thinking of you. P.S. It didn’t work. Boy, it didn’t work.

Virginia and I took part in a 5k run at our church on Saturday. The course was very up-and-down, it was mostly on and around athletic fields—in other words, it was a slow track. And we did great—Virginia especially. She finished 27th among all 150-plus participants, and first in her age group (I will avoid…

We had a great time celebrating our 21st anniversary, despite never seeing the sun. Thankfully the rain never got THAT bad. Big thanks to everyone who made restaurant recommendations—and no, we didn’t eat at every deep dish place suggested. (We would have exploded.) Bigger thanks to Kevin’s mom, who squired Kelly around this weekend, and…

And this is Virginia on the LONG walk back from our first-night dinner, with the Chicago River in the background.

Our youngest, now 16, has been getting in his driving time since receiving his driving permit (above, he’s behind the wheel of a $95,000 Mercedes SUV that Kevin brought home last summer. He didn’t drive that, no matter how bad-ass he was feeling). He’s not half-bad, though he’ll have to stop driving on the side…

Chris and Judy, for a long time, had a dream to expand their one-story home, and they’re almost there. The work is nearly done after 3-4 months. They added a second floor, but it was much more than that: the house was pretty much gutted to the ground (the basement remained intact), and built back…

We celebrated Kelly’s birthday one last time, with Kevin’s family, at the Melting Pot in King of Prussia. Kelly’s wanted to go here since he was, oh, 11. And you know what? He was right, it was tasty (and cheap, NOT!). That officially ends Kelly’s birthday. Earlier this week he received an amazing collection of…

Kelly got an early birthday present when we stopped at the AT&T store on the way home from his job (yes, he has a job helping out at Tiny Tennis in Limerick) and traded in his Pantech Something-or-Other for a brand-spanking-new iPhone 5. He hasn’t looked up since.

Proof that Iggy and Utley are still around, if not always moving in the same direction as us (OK, NEVER moving in the same direction as us). We’ve had lots of dustings of snow in January and February, but nothing of consequence. That’s not a complaint.

Kelly and Sarah at a friend’s house before the winter dance at Methacton High School.

And Kelly provided it during a test called an MRE. Given hospital clothes to wear, he spread them out and saw we could fit most of Philadelphia in these pants. Hey hey hey… It’s Faaaaaaat Kelly! Glad we had a laugh on a hard day. The test behind him, he got to eat a little…

The Alexanders were over for a New Year’s Eve dinner (Sandy brought crab legs, Donahues provided steak), and we took this photo of Kelly, Pete, Jennifer and Mike. We had to separate Mike and Kelly, or their shirts might have thrown someone into an epileptic seizure. Pete and Jenn sure give good smile.
